Practice Instructor Day 2025 - a complete success!
On September 30, 2025, it was time again: our 4th Practice Instructors' Day attracted 61 midwives from cooperating clinics and non-clinical facilities to the Faculty of Medicine in Dresden - and it was an all-round successful day!
The day began with a warm welcome from Prof. Wimberger, Dr. Katharina Langton and Dr. Friederike Seifert. They provided exciting insights into current developments in midwifery studies, new cooperation clinics, student numbers and the results of the state examinations.
A highlight of the morning was the ceremonial awarding of certificates to the graduates of Heb21. We were particularly proud of Wanda Glasewald, who passed her exams with an outstanding average grade of 1.0 - and therefore with distinction. Congratulations to her!
Specialist presentations rounded off the morning: from methods of practical guidance on the maternity ward to applicant selection and assessment to planned changes to the EU directive.
During the lunch break, everyone was able to enjoy the buffet and admire the posters of the 2022 Bachelor's theses. A special thank you to Tia Händel, who presented her poster herself and thus enriched the exchange.
The afternoon continued with a practical focus: workshops focused on topics such as reflection in practice guidance, stress reduction from the students' perspective, clinical reasoning in midwifery studies and video-based emergency simulation training.
The day was rounded off by the first joint meeting of the practice partners, organized by Sabrina Goldberg, practice coordinator at Dresden University Hospital. The main focus here was on joint exchange and networking, particularly between the clinic and non-clinical partners.
We would like to thank all our colleagues for their attendance! The day showed once again how valuable the exchange between theory and practice is and what impetus it can provide for the further development of practical guidance in midwifery training.
We are already looking forward to the 2026 Practice Supervisor Day!
