Open Position: Research Associate / PhD Candidate in Lipidomics and Cardiovascular Research
Prof. Maria Fedorova is looking for a new team member to join the ETNA research group.
A research position for a Research Associate (m/f/d) or a PhD Candidate (m/f/d) is now open at the Center for Membrane Biochemistry and Lipid Research (ZML) as part of the newly established DFG Research Unit ETNA investigating immune regulation after myocardial infarction. Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the research project “Modulation of the Innate Immune Response in the Early Phase of Myocardial Infarction (ETNA)” aims to develop novel therapeutic strategies to modulate inflammatory processes following heart attack.
The position will be based in the research group of Maria Fedorova and focuses on the role of macrophage ferroptosis in myocardial infarction. Research activities include mass spectrometry-based lipidomics, LC-MS/MS analyses, mass spectrometric imaging and integrative data analysis. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry and have an interest in lipid metabolism, membrane biochemistry and translational biomedical research.
The position is expected to start on 1 September 2026 and is offered on a part-time basis (26 hours/week) for a period of four years. The application deadline is 10 June 2026.
