Symposium "Bridging the Membrane" from 1 to 3 June in Dresden
Ünal Coskun is one of the organisers of the symposium "Bridging the Membrane".
From 1–3 June 2026, researchers from TU Dresden, the Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence (AIME), the University of Warwick, the Coventry University and the University of Birmingham will come together in Dresden for the international symposium “Bridging the Membrane”. The event aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in membrane biology, lipid research, biophysics and advanced imaging technologies.
The three-day programme combines scientific exchange, networking and strategic discussions on future cooperation. The main scientific sessions will take place on 2 June at the BioInnovationsZentrum Dresden and will feature presentations by leading researchers from Germany and the United Kingdom on topics including membrane organisation, lipid-mediated protein regulation and enabling technologies in membrane research.
In addition to keynote talks and poster presentations by early-career and senior scientists, the symposium will include discussions on future joint initiatives, including the launch of a PhD exchange programme between AIME and Dresden. The programme concludes on 3 June with a campus tour and a private visit to the TU Dresden Dye Collection.
The symposium is supported by international academic and institutional partners and highlights the growing scientific connections between Dresden and leading UK research institutions.
