Apr 29, 2026; Exhibit
Bakteriopolis at COSMO
From 24 March 2026, the COSMO Science Forum in the heart of Dresden will be transformed into a living world of microbes for six weeks. The travelling exhibition of the same name, Bakteriopolis, will be expanded and presented for the first time in a spacious exhibition space in the city centre. This will create new opportunities for additional exhibits and interactive stations that will inspire visitors with the hidden world of bacteria.
The focus will be on vivid representations of bacterial lifestyles, everyday references and numerous interactive stations. The exhibition will be supplemented by bacterial models from the German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH (DSMZ), among other things.
Accompanying programme and collaborations
Parallel to the exhibition, the CRISPR roadshow ‘Die Genschere in Dresden’ (The Gene Scissors in Dresden) will be visiting COSMO from 26 to 29 March. With workshops, laboratory courses, a science café and other formats, it will complement Bakteriopolis with content on current topics related to CRISPR-Cas. Further events such as a construction workshop with Pilzymzel and fermentation workshops are planned.
