Exhibition opening: RASENSTÜCKE by Andrea Grützner in the Gallery of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections in the Görges Building
A piece of meadow becomes a space of knowledge: with the cabinet exhibition Lawn Pieces, the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections gallery in the Görges Building will be showing new works by Dresden artist Andrea Grützner from March 26, 2026.
Opening:
Thursday, March 26, 2026, 6 p.m.
Gallery of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections, TU Dresden
Based on historical plant specimens from the Herbarium Dresdense and objects from the university's teaching collections, the photographer unfolds pictorial spaces in which scientific classification and artistic intervention overlap. In the series Dactylis glomerata, pressed grasses appear as luminous, linear structures; at the same time, traces of mounting, inscriptions and material interventions remain visible and make the processes of collecting and organizing themselves the subject.
Together with photographs from the Arkadia series, a multi-layered network of nature observation, image production and imagination is created - and thus a precise, yet sensual approach to the conditions under which nature becomes visible today.
The exhibition "Erbgericht" by Andrea Grützner will open on April 16, 2026 in the exhibition space bautzner69.
