Epilogue to the 30th anniversary celebration Faculty of Biology

On August 30, 2024, the Faculty of Biology celebrated its 30th anniversary since its re-founding in 1994. The anniversary symposium was moderated by Dean Prof. Mascher and took place in the ballroom at the IHD (Institute of Wood Technology) with a welcoming address by Rector Prof. Staudinger, followed by a lecture with a review of 30 years of biology by Prof. Gutzeit and subsequent flash talks by our new professors. At the end of the festive event, the new image film of the biologists was presented and met with great interest, which is now also available to everyone on the faculty website.  The event was funded by the Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der TU Dresden e.V.

After the symposium, the party took place in the Faculty of Biology - here the guests were treated to a delicious birthday cake sponsored by the professors with a champagne reception, a cake challenge, live music with the Blaswerk Meissen e.V., an exhibition on 30 years of biology with many beautiful exhibits and memorabilia as well as a photo loop with pictures from three decades. Of course, there were also plenty of culinary delights, good wine and beer from Lohrmann's in the evening and people laughed and danced until late in the university's most beautiful building. The response to the celebration was consistently positive and we heard and read again and again that it was great to see everyone again *), talk and spend time together.
