At the Chair of Cell and Molecular Biology of Plants, we offer the practical course "Cytogenomics – Molecular Chromosome Analysis" in the master's program Organismic Molecular Biodiversity (OMB) in the summer semester.
Physical mapping of repetitive sequences via FISH with mitotic chromosomes of Beta vulgaris.
The main contents of the course include the preparation of plant chromosomes from meristematic tissues and the direct chromosomal localization of repetitive DNA sequences by fluorescence in situ hybridization in species of the genus Beta.
