The module "Economically important animals and plants" comprises several lecture courses within the MSc study course Biology in Society. The group Cell and Molecular Biology of Plants is in charge of the subtopic "Economically important plants", focusing on
- plant domestication and the role of biodiversity and conservation
- the genetics of breeding
- methods to increase plant genetic variability
- the Green Revolution
- genetic modification of plants
- gene editing of plants
