iJaDe 2021 – Collaborating for Innovation
Virtual Conference of TU Dresden and its Japanese friends and partners – September 21 / 22 / 27, 2021
Three years after iJaDe 2018, we want to come together once again to reaffirm the long-standing close partnership between TU Dresden and its Japanese partners. Not only during the pandemic, but over these past years, we have become increasingly aware of the great importance of international research cooperation and collaboration between universities. We know that the pressing global issues of our time cannot be solved by individual scientists or countries. Only through international cooperation can we find the urgently needed solutions.
iJade 2021 will give us an opportunity to meet old and new colleagues, to reflect on our "New Normal" and to share ideas on how to collaborate for innovation in the future and plan next steps together.

Relevant funding organizations’ will focus on their reactions to today’s world and introduce their funding philosophy and programmes and address the participants’ questions:

- Japanese NCP
- German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH ) Tokyo
- German Research Foundation (DFG)
- European funding schemes such as ERASMUS and Horizon Europe (EPC)
Workshop II
Monday, September 27 - 9.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. CET / 4.30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. JST
The pandemic has once again shown us how quickly our established methods and tools of international cooperation can be blocked or even stopped altogether. However, it has also made us look for or pave new paths and shown us that it is worthwhile to rethink the well-trodden paths of recent years in order to strengthen and reinvigorate our really good partnerships.
Workshop II will address decision makers and IO staff of all partner universities. We will focus on our direct relationships within our partnerhips and will create an understanding of working conditions within the New Normal. The workshop will be very interactive, applying virtual tools such as Miro and Padlet to support our collegial exchange. We will apply what we learned about digital collaboration directly to collect good practices and develop our own approaches to working with each other within iJaDe.
