5th International Solar Neutrino Conference
Table of contents
Dresden, 11th – 14th June 2018
General Information
The 5th International Solar Neutrino Conference took place in Dresden from 11th – 14th June 2018. An organisation team of scientists from the Faculty of Physics and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf welcomed more than 60 solar neutrino researchers from all over the world.
The scientific programme focused on solar neutrino physics with particular emphasis on running and future solar neutrino experiments, detection techniques, solar models, helioseismology, phenomenological aspects, neutrino oscillations and nuclear physics related to solar models. The conference featured both invited talks and a poster session.
Associated to the international solar neutrino conference, a special programme for Alumni Germany was organized. The workshops and excursions within the frame program aimed to introduce TU Dresden and the Alliance DRESDEN-concept, to support networking and to inspire exchange of collaboration ideas.
The conference was supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
Scientific Programme
The focus of this conference was on solar neutrino physics. Above all it covered the following topics:
- Solar models
- Nuclear physics related to solar models, astrophysical S-factors
- Solar neutrinos and helioseismology
- Running and future solar neutrino experiments
- Detection techniques
- Neutrino oscillations, MSW effect
- Solar neutrino flux time variations

Framework Programme
In addition to the scientific programme, the TU Dresden on behalf of Alumni Germany offered a diverse framework and social programme during the conference.
The workshops and excursions within the framework programme aimed to introduce TU Dresden and the Alliance DRESDEN-concept, to support networking and to inspire exchange of collaboration ideas.
