Exhibition Chaos and Fractals
Exhibition chaos and fractals
Exhibition opening on May 14, 2018
6:00 pm
SLUB: Bereichbibliothek DrePunct
Whether it's the length of coastlines, traffic congestion or stock market prices:
Chaos and fractals play an important role in many areas. An exhibition in the DrePunct shows where chaos and fractals occur in our everyday lives and presents the work of various Dresden research groups.
On May 14th, 6 pm, the vernissage will take place, organized by the Junge Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, regional group Dresden (jDPG). An exciting talk by Prof. Roland Ketzmerick about chaos awaits you. Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to talk to researchers – snacks and drinks will be provided.
The exhibition features some fractal models by Professor Daniel Lordick of the Department of Geometry at the Faculty of Mathematics.
Note: Also for the Dresden Long Night of Science on June 15, 2018, a contribution of the working group Geometric Modeling and Visualization, headed by Professor Lordick, will deal with fractals at the Faculty of Mathematics:
"Drawing for science - a LEGO® robot in action"
The exhibition "Chaos and Fractals" will be on display in the DrePunct until the end of 2018.
