Optimisation Between Research and Application
The research and teaching activities at the Chair focus on the design, analysis, and application of efficient numerical methods for several classes of optimisation problems. They include smooth nonlinear constrained optimisation, complementarity problems and variational inequalities, specific nonsmooth and degenerate problems, tasks in discrete optimisation, in particular problems of cutting and packing, optimisation problems in machine learning, and last but not least diverse applications.
According to these research areas there is a number of scientific collaborations and contacts to partners at the TU Dresden, to research institutes and companies in Germany, and to research groups abroad.
