| Summary of Lecture: | This course is devoted to a study of quantum electrodynamics (QED) in strong background electromagnetic fields. Introduction to the effective action method and S-matrix approach to problems with external fields is given. Nonlinear vacuum effects like vacuum birefringence, photon splitting, and Schwinger pair-production are discussed. |
