| Summary of Lecture: | This proseminar deals with the atomic structure of materials and its relation to their physical properties. It provides an introduction to key aspects of solid state physics and to relevant research methodology. Each student prepares and presents a scientific talk in English, which is then discussed and analyzed together with the other students. The purpose is to practice scientific presentations and to enhance communication skills in English. |

| Specific topics will be listed on the web page given above. To sign up, please send an email with a ranked list of 2-3 topics as soon as possible to Prof. Geck at "jochen.geck@tu-dresden.de". The topics will then be assigned and communicated in the first seminar on October 11, 2017. Talks will be 30 min + 15 min scientific discussion and feedback. The language of the course is English. The module "Allgemeine Qualifikationen (AQUA)" of the Physics Bachelor course requires a 30 min proseminar talk to be given in English language. | |
