Summary of Lecture: | The course includes an overview of the phenomena and systems displaying phase transitions (PT) and provides an introduction to the theoretical methods used to described them (microscopic models and their (exact) solutions, mean field theory, Landau theory, Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless PT). A major topic is the renormalization group theory. | ||||||
