Prof. Miriam Schiele is the new Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
Prof. Dr. Miriam Schiele was appointed Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Dresden University of Technology in April 2026.
Her research focuses on investigating and modeling the mechanisms underlying mental disorders and how they change in the context of psychotherapeutic interventions, integrating clinical, psychological, and biological perspectives. A key focus is on the identification of biomarkers, particularly epigenetic mechanisms, reflecting clinical change during the course of psychotherapeutic interventions as well predicting individual response to therapy, thereby informing the development of personalized treatment approaches.
In addition, she investigates experimental and digital interventions, particularly virtual reality-based exposure therapy, to better understand and optimize the mechanisms of action underlying psychotherapeutic processes.
Her work combines basic research with clinical application and contributes to the development of mechanistically informed and personalized psychotherapeutic treatment approaches.
We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Schiele and look forward to working together!
