Universitätsklinikum Münster
Translational Research of Psychological Processes and Targeted Clinical Interventions
Elisabeth Leehr is fascinated by neurobiological basic research of psychological processes, their modulation capability and the translation of these basic insights in psychological interventions.
Her work is focused on processes, like emotion regulation and inhibitory control, which are thought to be altered in mental disorders. Her aim is to investigate the neuro-bio-behavioral basics of these processes and to find potential starting points for the development and optimization of targeted psychological interventions.
She profits from a plethora of methods (eyetracking, electromyography, electroencephalography, magnetic resonance imaging, experimental psychopathology, diagnostic tools, as well as (epi-)genetics) in her research. Her clinical work with patients guides her scientific work and encourages her to orient her research to the challenges of clinical practice.
