What's it all about?
Here you will find all the information about this year's ESE events. Whether party, culture, hiking, food, drink, games and fun - There really is something for everyone!
The first semester orientation (ESE) traditionally takes place one week before the start of lectures (07.10.-11.10.2024) and is intended to help you get to know the study process, the city, the campus and, above all, your fellow students. You will be allocated to mentoring groups and spend the week with two to three students from a higher semester and about 10 other freshmen from your program.
During this week we have again decided on some nice activities. You will get to know the campus, pick up your freshman bag and take part in the Neustadtrallye.
So it's worth coming to Dresden for that week before the studies start!
What can you do right now?
1. Join our Discord server, where we will share all relevant information about your studies.
2. Don't freak out about how to create your study schedule. The registration itself will take place during the first week. Your mentors will guide you through the process. They can also explain what exactly you have to choose and how.

Faculty Introduction
During the introductory talks of our faculty, you will receive relevant information about the structure of your studies. We also introduce ourselves as your Students’ Council and assign you to your mentoring groups.
Campus Tour
As we are looking forward to a hopefully less digital semester, you’ve got to know what your campus looks like. Your mentors will show you the most important places and answer all of your questions. Additionally, that’s the first chance to meet your fellow students and connect with each other.
Neustadtrallye
A highlight of the week. The groups will be shuffled again, and you are going to compete against the other teams in various fun games. We will provide enough alcohol for those of you who would like to.
Bring & Eat
On Wendnesday, we'll take it easy for the time being. If weather permits we meet in the in Großer Garten - Dresden's green lung in the middle of the city - for a coffee klatch. Bring your favorite food and let yourself be spoiled by the delicacies of your fellow students. Whether it's puff pastry buns, homemade bread with hummus, classic pasta salad or your favorite spread from the supermarket around the corner - just bring what you like. Also, please don't forget to bring your own dishes - for the sake of the environment.
If the weather is not on our side, we will meet in the foyer of Andreas-Schubert-Bau (1st floor, use the main entrance on the front of the building).
NeuroTanzMission
THE highlight of the week and THE party to be! It's time to rev up the synapses and let the endorphins run free! Extremely popular with psychologists and students of all other faculties alike. The winter semester party is traditionally our loud, danceable "Welcome!" to the new freshmen. Use the party to get in touch with your new fellow students or spend the evening with hot beats.
