Committees and Delegates
Working in committees is very important because they make the decisions that really affect us (e.g. study and examination regulations). Here we explain the most important committees.
Study Commission (StuKo)
The Study Commission performs advisory tasks that are important for the sensible organization and proper implementation of teaching and study activities and for ensuring a proper course of study; in particular, it submits proposals for the study regulations and the course of study. It monitors compliance with the study regulations and submits proposals for new study regulations to the Faculty Board. It consists of four students and four lecturers. The student members are proposed by the FSR and confirmed by the Faculty Board. The StuKo prepares and evaluates the evaluation of teaching. The StuKo also gives students with difficulties advice on their studies or suggests high-performing students for awards. The StuKo is chaired by the Dean of Studies. The StuKo meets monthly and its meetings are open to the faculty.

Among other things, the PA ensures compliance with the provisions of the examination regulations, monitors and reports on proper examination procedures and, as the examination authority, decides on applications (e.g. for extensions, compensation for disadvantages, recognition). The FSR appoints 2 students (Bachelor, "new" KPP) or 1 student (Master HPSTS, CAN, "old" KPP and Diplom) to represent you in the PA. The PAs meet once a semester after the end of the examination period (usually in April and November). Further information and notifications from the Examination Committees can be found on the Examination Office website.

Among other things, the StuRa negotiates the semester ticket and is responsible for the recognition of university groups. They also help you with all topics related to your studies with a comprehensive range of advice. You can find more information on the Student Council website
The plenum is made up of the representatives of the various Faculty Student Councils. Motions are discussed and decided on every two weeks. We have 1 vote in the StuRa and send 1 basic representative and 1 substitute representative.
In the academic year 24/25 we delegate to the StuRa:
- Lizzy Felde (main representative)
- Robert Ritter (substitute representative)
Departmental Council
The Faculty of Psychology is part of the School of Science. In addition to us, this area also includes the Faculties of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Representatives of all faculties sit on the School Committee, which is chaired by the departmental spokesperson. The 33 members are made up as follows:
17 from the group of university lecturers
6 from the group of academic members
6 from the group of students
3 from the group of other employees
1 equal opportunities officer/equal opportunities officer
Many resolutions passed by the individual Faculty Boards require the approval of the School Committee. Otherwise, all matters concerning the joint School Committee are dealt with by the School Committee.
The student representatives on the School Committee are elected every year, usually together with the new Faculty Student Councils.
