PC pool

For access, a chip card is activated for the card readers at the doors of rooms SE2 101 and SE2 121. This card gives you access to the PC pools. The card can be collected for a €1.50 deposit. Please make an appointment by e-mail.
Lead time: approx. 1 week
There are two PC pool rooms available in seminar building 2:
- SE2 101 with 16 PCs. This room can be used by all psychology students outside of classes.
- SE2 121 with 8 PCs. No courses take place here
You can use SPSS via the ZIH terminal server: https: //rds.zih.tu-dresden.de
Log in with ZIH login and password and select 'Office-Collection'
The FSR does not offer its own SPSS. If it does not work via the server and you need SPSS for a thesis, please contact your supervisor. They can apply for licenses from the ZIH.
Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to approx. 8:00 p.m. (after this time, the building must be left via the elevator through the rear exit "H").
The building may be locked at weekends.
The following drives are available:
- C: local hard disk
- D: Local DVD drive
- H: Home, personal data drive on the server
- P: Public, general data drive on the server (everyone can read and write here)
- The public drive is emptied every semester break
- Assign a password when saving confidential documents ("Save as" - "Tools" - "General options")
The following programs are available on the PCs:
- SPSS 28 (only in room 101)
- Amos 28
- HLM 6
- MATLAB
- R
- R Studio
- Microsoft Office
During use:
- Use primarily for studies (e.g. term papers/theses)
- Use the memory sparingly (guideline: 250 MB)
- Dispose of waste and keep the room clean
- Avoid eating and drinking at the workstations
- Return dishes!
When leaving the room:
- Switch off PCs and displays
- Switch off lights
- Close doors and windows
It is forbidden:
- Installing unauthorized software
- Downloading illegal content
- Passing on your login and password to others
Violations of the rules of use can lead to exclusion from use. The time of logging on and off the PC is logged in order to be able to prove any misuse. By logging on to the PC, you agree to this logging.
Items lost or forgotten in the PC pool are stored at the FSR Psychology and can be picked up there after registration by e-mail to .
