Prof. Dr. Corinna Jacobi

The use of electronic and communication technologies in healthcare is growing. Online interventions can be used to improve the accessibility, effectiveness and affordability of mental health care. Prof. Dr. Corinna Jacobi and her team develop and evaluate web- and app-based interventions to promote mental health and supplement the treatment of mental disorders.

Current trials

The chair coordinates the EU-funded research consortium ICare, which comprises seven clinical trials and several add-on studies. The chair serves as a trial center for three of those trials: everyBody (eating disorder prevention), everyBody plus (self-help for individuals with bulimia nervosa and binge eating) and We Can (self-help for carers of individuals with Anorexia nervosa).

Wir freuen uns, Teil des neu gegründeten Netzwerks Mental Health Dresden-Leipzig zu sein, das großartige Institutionen zusammenbringt: die Technische Universität Dresden, die Universität Leipzig, das Max-Planck-Institut für Kognitions- und Neurowissenschaften, das Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung, das Robert Koch-Institut, transCampus und das IOPPN am King' College. Durch die Kombination verschiedener Forschungsansätze, beispielsweise neurowissenschaftlicher und Versorgungs-Gesundheitsforschung, wollen wir die psychische Gesundheit insbesondere von jungen Menschen verbessern.

Research Focus

The research focus of the Chair for Clinical Psychology and E-Mental-Health is on technology-based interventions as well as on the epidemiology, prevention, early detection and treatment of eating disorders and negative body image. In the past 20 years, we have developed and evaluated a range of innovative interventions to prevent and treat eating disorders, most of them web-based.
