Doctoral Student Lea Krumpholtz at SRCD 2025 in Minneapolis
Our doctoral candidate Lea Krumpholtz successfully participated in the Biennial Meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota – one of the most prestigious conferences worldwide in the field of childhood development. As part of a poster presentation, she shared her current research and took the opportunity to engage in intensive academic exchange with experts from around the world.
In her study, Lea Krumpholtz examined how perinatal depression (PD) and its comorbidity with anxiety disorders (PDCA) are related to infants’ physiological stress regulation and later behavioral outcomes in early childhood. This research question is of high relevance, as mothers experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties often have limited capacity for co-regulation with their infants – a factor that can negatively impact the child’s stress regulation and socio-emotional development. The findings suggest that perinatal mental health disorders may influence child development during the first year of life.
Her participation was made possible through funding by the Graduate Academy of TU Dresden – we express our sincere thanks for this support and warmly congratulate Lea Krumpholtz on her successful presentation at SRCD 2025!
