TREASURE (CA22114) is a research initiative within COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) that connects researchers across countries to investigate perinatal maternal stress and its short- and long-term effects on child development.
On 4–5 June 2026, the latest TREASURE meeting took place at the University of Akureyri in Iceland. The focus was on advancing ongoing collaborative research projects and fostering scientific exchange within the international network.
Prof. Anna-Lena Zietlow contributed to the meeting in her role as Working Group Leader. Together with international colleagues, ongoing project progress was discussed and next steps were defined. Tabea Cwienzek and Lea Wölflein also contributed their expertise as Subgroup Leaders. Tabea Czwenik coordinates a mixed-methods study on parental stress experiences, while Lea Wölflein leads a meta-analysis on interventions for perinatal stress.
The two-day meeting was characterized by a highly productive and collaborative working atmosphere. Significant progress was made across projects, and concrete next steps were agreed upon. The meeting concluded with updates from all working groups, clearly highlighting the strength of the TREASURE network: close interdisciplinary and international collaboration among researchers addressing complex questions related to perinatal stress.
We are looking forward to continued collaboration within the TREASURE network and to generating new scientific insights that will contribute to the long-term improvement of child and family health and development.
