Prof. Dr. Miriam Schiele is the new professor of clinical psychology and psychotherapy
Prof. Dr. Miriam Schiele has been Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the TUD Dresden University of Technology since April 2026.
Her research is dedicated to the investigation and modeling of mechanisms of mental disorders and their change in the context of psychotherapeutic interventions, integrating clinical, psychological and biological levels. One focus is on the identification of biomarkers, in particular with regard to epigenetic processes, which map changes in the course of psychotherapeutic interventions and can contribute to the prediction of individual therapy response and the development of personalized treatment approaches.
In addition, she investigates experimental and digital interventions, in particular virtual reality-based exposure procedures, in order to better understand the mechanisms of action of psychotherapeutic processes and to optimize them in a targeted manner.
Her work combines basic research with clinical application and contributes to the development of mechanistically informed and personalized psychotherapeutic treatment approaches.
