Annelie Mekelburg completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Psychology at the Technical University of Dresden, with a funded research stay in Australia. She has been a PhD candidate at the Chair of Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience since 2024.
In her research, she is interested in compassion-based interventions and the relationship between social interactions and the course of affective disorders. In this context, she particularly aims to investigate the role of socio-emotional and -cognitive processes (e.g., empathic stress, compassion).
