My interest is in social and nonsocial cognition in healthy populations and people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. A key focus of my work is on the combined use of behavioural assessments and functional imaging to advance models of altered human social interaction. Currently, I am co-leading a DFG-funded research project with Philipp Kanske. We are investigating how the interplay of cognitive flexibility, social cognition, social affect and moral emotions - mutually in both affected individuals and relatives - influences social interactions in families of people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. In the past, I have trained with Michael Bauer, Michael F. Green, Stephen R. Marder, Michael N. Smolka, and Katharina von Kriegstein. Next to my research work, I currently work as a licensed psychotherapist at the UFP Dresden - with a focus on cognitive behavorial therapy for psychosis (CBTp).
