Yiwen Xiao completed her B.Sc. in Applied Psychology at Zhengzhou University and her M.Sc. in Psychology at Nanjing Normal University. She then began her doctoral studies at TUD Dresden University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Philipp Kanske. Her core research areas are social cognition, with a particular interest in the neural basis of social self-control. She uses imaging techniques, in particular structural magnetic resonance imaging, to gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of social cognition.
