Are we more prosocial in old age? New meta-study published
In a new meta-study, researchers from Würzburg and Dresden, together with Philipp Kanske, have investigated the relationship between age and prosociality.
The analysis also indicates that older adults are more prosocial than younger ones. This effect is particularly strong in studies that include financial incentives. In addition, evidence hints at a quadratic age effect on behavioral prosociality, suggesting a peak in midlife.
