Congratulations to Andrea Karaiskaki!

Andrea Karaiskaki, a doctoral student in the Kanske Lab, has been awarded a doctoral student scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation, Germany's most prestigious academic funding foundation. The scholarship is awarded as part of a highly competitive, merit-based selection process and recognizes outstanding academic achievement, intellectual independence and social commitment.

Andrea's research interest is the interaction between brain and body in social interactions, focusing on the neural correlates of empathy as a property of interoceptive processing. Through the Studienstiftung, Andrea is part of a nationwide interdisciplinary network of scholars and participates in advanced academic and professional development programs alongside doctoral students from all departments.
