Living with depression: New article in Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten
How does depression affect relationship dynamics—and can one partner’s psychological distress be transferred to the other? These questions are currently being investigated as part of the large-scale research project TRR 393 - SFB/TRR 393 - Trajectories of Affective Disorders: Cognitive-Emotional Mechanisms of Symptom Change, a collaboration between researchers in Dresden, Marburg, and Münster. The aim is to better understand how depression and interpersonal processes interact within close relationships.
The article in Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten draws attention to this research and highlights the importance of understanding depression not only as an individual disorder, but also in the context of close social relationships.
