NEEDS project is looking for participants with schizophrenia
NEEDS Study: Let’s better understand communication in schizophrenia together!
Since the end of 2025, the NEEDS Study at TU Dresden has been scientifically investigating how certain communication patterns develop between people with schizophrenia and those close to them. Using modern methods such as MRI scans and video analyses, the study explores the roles of flexible thinking, empathy, and emotional processing. In the long term, this research aims to promote more conscious and relaxed communication, as well as contribute to reducing relapses.
The study is currently looking for pairs consisting of one person diagnosed with schizophrenia and one close person (family member, partner, or friend). As a thank-you for their important contribution to research, participants receive €120–€160 per person as compensation for their time and expenses.
