New Article: High Sensitivity and Narcissism
A new article on the similarities of high sensitivity and hypersensitive narcissism by Emanuel Jauk, Philipp Kanske and colleagues (2022) has been published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology. Highly sensitive persons are characterised by increased sensitivity to sensory stimulation, which is regarded both as a “superpower” and as a burden by some. The authors hypothesised that when these characteristics are viewed as a superpower, they might be accompanied by feelings of uniqueness similar to characteristics of hypersensitive narcissism. Indeed, the findings confirmed a significant overlap between high sensitivity and hypersensitive narcissism.
