New publication: "How self-states help"
Working with so-called inner parts or self-states is an important method in psychotherapy and counseling. In a new publication, Isabelle Engel, Philipp Kanske, and colleagues investigated the extent to which it is possible to identify and objectively differentiate self-states. In fact, participants were able to discern and differentiate individual self-states based on the bodily displayed valence and dominance. This finding suggests that self-states can not only be activated but can also be identified objectively. The results of this study thus expand our understanding of therapeutic work with self-states.
