Spotlight on Social Intelligence: Public Lecture by Prof. Dr. Philipp Kanske in Chemnitz

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Prof. Dr. Philipp Kanske from the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at TU Dresden will give a public lecture at the Agricolaforum in Chemnitz. Under the title “Social Intelligence – How We Find Out What Others Think and Feel”, the renowned psychologist and neuroscientist will explore the foundations and mechanisms of social interaction.

The lecture will focus on how we understand others’ thoughts and emotions – a process involving both empathy and perspective-taking. Prof. Kanske will discuss how these abilities are represented in the brain and how they can be trained and modified, particularly in the context of mental health conditions.

The event begins at 7:00 PM and will take place at the Eduard-Theodor-Böttcher-Bau (Old Boiler House, courtyard) of TU Chemnitz (Straße der Nationen 62, 09111 Chemnitz). Admission is free.
