Unpacking Empathy: A Dialogue Across Disciplines

Empathy is a concept at the heart of both human connection and scientific inquiry. In an upcoming interdisciplinary webinar titled “Unpacking Empathy,” two leading scholars from different fields will delve into the multifaceted nature of empathy.

We are pleased to welcome Professor Philipp Kanske (Technical University of Dresden, Psychology and Neuroscience) and Dr. Leda Berio (Ruhr University Bochum, Philosophy) for this special event. Each will present insights from their respective disciplines—neuroscience and philosophy—before engaging in an open discussion with each other and the audience.

This unique dialogue will not only explore how empathy is understood and measured in different academic traditions but also examine the ethical, emotional, and cognitive dimensions of what it means to "feel with" another.
