Welcoming Xinyun to Our Lab!
We are delighted to welcome Xinyun Yuan as a new PhD researcher in our group!
Xinyun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatry from North China University of Science and Technology and a Master’s degree in Psychiatry and Mental Health from Shandong University and Shandong Mental Health Center in China. Her academic background combines clinical psychiatry with interdisciplinary research in neuroscience and mental health.
Her research experience spans several areas, including epigenetics and childhood trauma, depression-related symptoms, EEG-based neurodevelopmental research, and mental health network analysis. Her master’s research investigated whether DNA methylation of the OPRL1 gene moderates the association between childhood trauma and somatic symptoms. She has also contributed to research projects involving EEG normative modelling in ADHD and autism, mindfulness-based interventions, and cognitive processes in depression.
Alongside her research experience, Xinyun has a clinical background in psychiatry and holds Chinese medical qualifications. She is particularly interested in bridging clinical practice and neuroscience to better understand the psychological and interpersonal mechanisms underlying mental health conditions.
In her PhD, Xinyun will join the SFB/TRR 393 research programme, with a focus on the mechanisms of social interaction and their relevance to mental health. She is looking forward to developing her research further within the interdisciplinary research environment in Dresden.
We are excited to have Xinyun join the team and look forward to working with her. Welcome to the group, Xinyun!
