SaxoChiLD
Project Description
SaxoChiLD is an interdisciplinary team consisting of scientists from the University of Leipzig and TU Dresden, doctors from the University Clinics Leipzig and Dresden, experts from the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research (UFZ), the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Leipzig (MPI-EVA), the Leipzig Helmholtz Institute for Metabolism, Obesity and Vascular Research (HI-MAG) and the Robert Koch Institute Berlin. This new research center for child and youth health is intended to complement the successful model of the six existing German centers for health research. The overarching goal is to create optimal research conditions in order to better combat common diseases important for public health. The Chair of Lifespan Developmental Neuroscience also participates in SaxoChiLD with our research activities.
