Hands-on workshop literature research in psychology - Fit for the bachelor thesis
Hands-on workshop literature research in psychology - fit for your Bachelor's thesis
Are you in the middle of researching for your Bachelor's thesis in psychology? Or is the research due soon? In this workshop, we want to refresh the basics of efficient literature research for psychological topics and try them out using practical exercises. How do I proceed systematically in my search? What was that again with the specialist databases? How can I get a good set of hits as efficiently as possible? We want to deal with these and other questions in practice.
So that we have as much time as possible in the workshop itself to try out specific searches in specialist databases, practical exercises and, above all, your questions about your own research topic, you should familiarize yourself with a few basics in self-study beforehand. In the SLUB tutorial for self-study in levels 1 and 2 you will find basic information on the preparation and strategy of a search. The practical content of Level 3 as well as psychology-specific tips and tricks are then covered in the face-to-face workshop.
The workshop is primarily aimed at psychology students in the 6th semester of their Bachelor's degree, but 4th semester students are also welcome to come along with their questions. The workshop will take place in presence in the Open Science Lab. If possible, please bring your own device (laptop, tablet, etc.) so that you can work specifically on your topic and research questions.
