What basic guidelines do I need to follow?

• Upload your final thesis (including appendices) as a single PDF file to the TU Dresden Datashare portal (step-by-step instructions)
• Application deadline: No later than the due date at 11:59 pm
• You will find the exact deadline in selma
• After the deadline has passed, you will no longer have access to your Datashare folder
• After uploading the document, NO automatic confirmation email will be sent to you

What should I know about the upload?

• Avoid uploading at the very last minute
• Be sure to allow enough time for the upload
• A test upload is NOT possible
• Deleting or re-uploading the file is NOT possible
• Important: Once the upload is complete, the thesis is considered submitted, even if your processing time has not yet expired

What technical requirements do I need to be aware of?

• Please do not use spaces or special characters in the file name
• The maximum size of the uploaded file (PDF) is 500 MB
• Appendices must be embedded in the PDF file (if this is not possible because you wish to submit executable code as well, please contact    in advance using your TUD email address)
• No data requiring a high level of protection (e.g., personal information from interviews or surveys, or data from third parties - such as companies or the department - that is not intended for public release) may be uploaded to the TU Dresden Datashare portal. Please discuss the sharing of such data directly with your academic advisor.
• The declaration of originality must be included at the end of the thesis and:
  • be signed by hand and scanned OR
  • be digitally signed

What should I do if technical problems occur during the upload?

• Check your firewall, antivirus software, and internet connection in advance
• Have a backup option in case of internet connectivity issues (e.g., smartphone hotspot)
• If upload problems occur: Take screenshots showing the following:
  • the browser window with the error message
  • the system time
  • the network status of your device
• Send the screenshots immediately with your TUD email address to:
