The introductory week for neurodivergent students is looking for peers
From 28 September to 2 October 2026, the CampusKompass Neurodivergence (CKN) team is organizing an introductory week for first-year and new students at TUD, which is aimed in a targeted manner at neurodivergent students.
The program is aimed at students with autism, AD(H)S, dyslexia, mental illness or epilepsy, as well as anyone who considers themselves neurodivergent. The aim of the week is to make the start of studies more structured, calmer and more individual.
Many traditional induction weeks are characterized by a tight schedule, large groups and a constant stream of new impressions. For some, this is an exciting start to their studies, for others it can quickly become overwhelming. CKN wants to address this and create an alternative that caters more to different needs.
The plans include
- a campus tour
- Support with lesson planning
- a joint brunch
- Workshops on learning strategies and neurodivergent empowerment
- Insights into important contact points at the TUD
The program is based on regular introductory weeks, but takes place in smaller groups and with more time, peace and structure.
Peers wanted
CKN is currently looking for peers so that participants can find support not only in the first week, but also in everyday student life.
Peers accompany the first week, support the first steps at the university and are also available as contact persons during the first semester if desired. This includes, for example, accompanying students to their first appointments or helping them find their way around campus.
We are looking for students in higher semesters who are familiar with the basic procedures and structures of the university and who have time, openness and reliability.
No previous experience with neurodivergence is required. Personal or professional points of contact are welcome, but not a requirement.
