Dresden team wins at the DOPPLERS Physics Olympiad
From 27 to 29 March 2026, 115 students gathered in Osnabrück to put their skills to the test at DOPPLERS – the German Physics Problem-Solving Olympiad. In the competition, teams of 3–4 students each compete to solve theoretical physics problems together.
The ‘Dresdner Brückenbauer’ team, comprising Pierre Naguib, Pauline Lenz (both of whom are now completing their Master’s degrees at ETH Zurich following their TUD Bachelor’s degrees last year), Johannes Marschall and Kai Diegel successfully prevailed against the other teams and secured an excellent 3rd place. This qualifies them for the international PLANCKS competition, which takes place from 21 to 25 May in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Alongside the “Dresdner Brückenbauer”, another TUD team – the “Dreisteine” – comprising Valentin Vieira Nagel, Vlada Kramer and Florentine Lehmann, also performed well in Osnabrück.
