Do you sometimes feel stressed or overwhelmed during your studies? You’re not alone—over 70% of all students report experiencing stress, and depending on the degree program, the risk of dropping out is as high as 50%. The research project “Studying Healthily and Successfully” (GesA Stud) at the Technical University of Braunschweig aims to change that—and invites students at the TU Dresden to participate as well.
What is GesA Stud?
GesA Stud is a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and led by Prof. Dr. Simone Kauffeld. The goal is to develop low-threshold, stigma-free services to promote student health and academic success.
Here’s how it works:
- You’ll go through a scientific assessment process to identify your individual needs and resources as a student.
- You’ll receive a personalized profile along with actionable recommendations.
- Depending on the study condition you’re assigned, you’ll receive additional support—such as coaching, group training, or a digital transfer tool.
- Participation lasts about one semester, with the bulk of the work taking place in the first eight weeks.
- Participation is available nationwide in Germany and can be done virtually.
Here’s what you’ll gain from participating
- Up to 30 € in compensation for full participation
- An additional chance to win gift cards worth 50 €, 30 €, or 10 €
- Valuable insights into your own stressors and resources—a building block for your health, even beyond your studies
