How will AI change everyday school life in the future? Why is it so important for pupils to gain insights into science and research at an early age? These and other questions were raised at the network meeting between TU Dresden and the now 14 cooperating schools on August 29, 2024. The focus was also on further intensifying cooperation. Representatives of the partner schools from Dresden and Saxony as well as from partner schools in Argentina and Mexico came together to discuss current projects, challenges and opportunities for cooperation.

In an exciting two-hour session, the participating school representatives had the opportunity to fill out profiles and then presented the current topics they are dealing with at their schools and in the existing cooperation with TU Dresden and the School Contact Point. These experiences and insights will help the schools, but also the university, to develop tailor-made offers and set thematic priorities for the next "Good practice" day in 2025.

One highlight of the meeting was the inclusion of the Semper schools as a new cooperation school in the network and the presentation of the robot Ameca, which was developed by the Center for Tactile Internet with Human-Level AI (CeTi). Ameca, an impressive example of the application of AI in education, aroused the interest of those present and stimulated discussions about the use of robots in everyday life.

The presentation was followed by an informal exchange, during which the school representatives were able to further deepen their thoughts and ideas within the network.

The event once again highlighted the importance of dialog between educational institutions and universities in actively shaping the education of the future and using science communication to convey the use of innovative technologies, for example.

A big thank you goes to the colleagues from CeTi, the Unit Diversity Management, the International Office and the ZLSB, whose contribution and commitment helped to make the network meeting a success.
