Semester ticket to become fully valid Deutschlandticket in 2024 summer semester
The semester ticket will become a full-fledged Deutschlandticket in the 2024 summer semester! As before, all students will receive the "Deutschlandticket Semester" when they pay the semester fee to continue their studies. This fee includes a contribution of EUR 29.40 for the ticket. The Deutschlandticket will then be valid as of April 1, 2024 for travel throughout Germany. A major change is that the semester ticket will now be issued as a smartphone ticket.
The smartphone ticket, which is valid for travel throughout Germany, can be accessed via the RIDE Campus app. Students can register for and receive their ticket starting March 21, 2024. Due to the last-minute introduction of the new semester ticket, your Campuscard cannot yet be used as a transportation ticket.
The reason for this is that the previous semester ticket, which was attached to your Campuscard, and the new "Deutschlandticket Semester" require different personal data to be stored on the chip card, so that it was not possible to set up the use of the Campuscard throughout Germany at short notice. Unfortunately, the public transport company has refused to allow further use of the Campuscard, which would have been technically possible, at least in Dresden and the surrounding area.
Students who do not have or cannot use a smartphone and would like to use the Deutschlandticket should contact ServiceCenterStudies.
For the 2024/25 winter semester, the contract negotiations on the semester ticket and talks on future technical implementation are still pending TU Dresden and the Student Council of TUD will keep you informed of the regulations that will then apply.
