The TU Dresden website
For its diverse target audiences, the TU Dresden website is often the first place to go to obtain information and get an initial impression of TUD as a University of Excellence. TUD’s organizational units or projects can use their own websites to present their topics and services. To simplify content management for the websites, web editors have access to a web content management system (WebCMS for short) based on Plone, which offers numerous content elements for page design. Unit 7.5 Web and Video is responsible for the technical provision of the WebCMS and continuously develops its functionalities.
TUD Website Refresh: New Page Types Starting in Fall 2026
Following the introduction of the new corporate design and initial design adjustments, the website is now being further improved to make it even more modern and appealing. The first step involves the landing pages, which will be available to editors in the new web design starting in fall 2026 . The further implementation and timeline of the website refresh have been designed to offer the responsible editors maximum flexibility while ensuring a consistent experience for website visitors.
- October 2026: The new landing pages are available to editors.
- Q2/2027: The new content pages, as well as news and events, will be made available in the content management system.
- Q2/2027 to Q1/2028: Once each section of the website is complete, it will go live with the new design.
