Innovative building materials, intelligent façade systems, dynamic building simulations, building-integrated energy generation from regenerative energy sources - each of these fields usually looks at construction from a certain perspective. Seen as a whole, they form an interplay of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary cross-sectional fields, that open up new perspectives of the modern building research.

The Construction Research Centre is an interdisciplinary scientific institution with a research and service provider role at the TU Dresden, which investigates current construction-related topics across disciplines. The center was founded by 17 institutes and professorships from the faculties of architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, environmental sciences and economics.

The Contruction Research Centre is headed by a 5-person board. The board members come from 3 faculties, ensuring an interdisciplinary orientation. The management board coordinates the activities of the center and ensures its functioning.
