IR alumna Denise Köcke wins Early-Career Scholar Award of the European Society for International Law
Denise Köcke, Bachelor class 2019, has won the Early-Career Scholar Award of the European Society for International Law (ESIL) for her paper ‘Merging Man and Machine. A Legal Assessment of Brain-Computer Interfaces in Armed Conflict’. The paper was developed from her Bachelor's thesis, supervised by Prof Dr Steiger, and was presented at the ESIL Annual Conference on a panel on ‘Posthumanism, Technology, and Peace and Security’. Each year, the prize is awarded to a scientific contribution by an author at an early career stage (maximum three years after the doctorate). Among other things, Denise Köcke will have the opportunity to publish her article in the European Journal for International Law (after successful peer review).
