At ZIS I give lectures on special issues of international law, as well as on international and European human rights protection, law of international organizations, and international humanitarian law. In addition, I offer a seminar on selected issues of international law each semester, alternating between UNESCO topics and current general international law topics (e.g., UN Security Council, environmental issues)." Political Sciences
Prof. Dr. Anna Holzscheiter
"I am interested in the role of non-state actors, especially civil society actors in international politics, their influence on international rule-making and their cooperation with large international organisations. Global health, development and human rights are the policy fields in which I have the greatest expertise. I focus - together with colleagues in Sweden - on political participation and representation of young people in international politics. The causes and consequence of the complex interactions between organisations in the international space are the focus of two current research projects, in which we are investigating, among other things, the connection between institutional diversity and norm collisions or the widely ramified discourse networks between actors in the international space. At ZIS, I teach courses on complex actor relations in international politics ("Horizontal Cooperation"), on international institutions, and more generally on theories and concepts of international relations."
