The Bachelor's degree program "International Relations" (IB) at the Center for International Studies (ZIS) at TU Dresden is a genuinely interdisciplinary degree program with the three equally important (core) subjects of International Politics, International Law and International Economics.
The degree program comprises a total of 180 credit points (CP) and has a modular structure. In each of the three core subjects, students must complete modules worth at least 30 CP. In addition, three interdisciplinary courses (15 CP), with three lecturers (one from each of the three core subjects), as well as additional pre-vocational qualifications, such as a work placement, are part of the curriculum. The standard period of study is six semesters. The final thesis comprises six CP.
A further component of the course is integrated language training in two modern foreign languages (English and either French, Spanish or Russian).
In the area of supplementary qualifications, further modules in the core subjects and related social science disciplines are available for selection ( up to a maximum of 30 CP).
Students on the Bachelor's degree course in IB spend the fifth semester at a state-recognized university abroad.
