Presentation of the results of the 3rd Saxon Alumni Study
Minister of Science Gemkow and research study director Lenz presented the results of the 3rd Saxon Alumni Study on 19 October 2020. Following the examination years 2006/2007 and 2010/2011, the third study now provides detailed data on the career entry of graduates of 2015/2016 in Saxony. Since the first two cohorts were surveyed again, the information on the further career path after graduation now extends to up to eleven and six years respectively.
The Saxon Alumni Study, in which a sample of 75% of the graduates is questioned, has a high significance, to which the high response rate to the questionnaires also contributes. In the two follow-up surveys, this was 50 and over 70% respectively.
Most important results:
- The quality of the study program, from a high level, is rated even better than that of the previous years.
- According to their own assessment, the alumni possess a high degree of self-learning competence, professional competence, organizational and communication skills.
- The international mobility of the students is decreasing.
- Almost 60% of the alumni stay in Saxony for their first job.
- Over time, the average income increases significantly.
- Women earn considerably less - also independent of the choice of subjects.
- 85% of the alumni already have a permanent employment with their first job
